Located along the vibrant OMR corridor in Chennai, this apartment enjoys abundant natural light and refreshing ocean breezes due to its favourable orientation. Designed for a client who works in the IT industry, the brief was to create a calm and relaxing home, a space where he could close the door and disconnect from the traffic and fast-paced work life outside.

The design language of the apartment follows a minimalist contemporary style, emphasizing simplicity, clean lines, and a soothing visual palette. The home opens into a warm and welcoming foyer that seamlessly transitions into the living space. A custom-designed storage unit in the foyer provides a practical solution for organizing shoes, umbrellas, and bags while maintaining a clutter-free entry.

The living room, dining area, and kitchen are designed around a cool neutral palette of white, grey, and teal. The teal accents draw inspiration from the nearby ocean, bringing a sense of freshness and tranquillity into the interiors. The teal sofa adds vibrancy to the otherwise calm palette, while the TV unit acts as the focal point of the living room. Floor-to-ceiling curtains and a vertically designed TV unit enhance the sense of height, visually elongating the space. Grey and white marble textures introduce subtle visual interest, while warm wooden elements balance the cool tones and add warmth to the overall composition. Large contemporary artworks further elevate the living area with character and personality. The teal-toned kitchen is designed to feel refreshing and calming, while also being highly functional and tailored to the client's lifestyle and daily needs.

In contrast to the cooler tones of the living areas, the bedrooms adopt a warm neutral palette of white, brown, and plum. Each bedroom is thoughtfully designed to integrate study or work tables alongside the wardrobes, ensuring functionality without compromising on aesthetics. The wardrobes are customized according to the client's requirements and feature sleek wooden handles that enhance their clean, modern appearance. The plum accents used in the bedrooms are subtly echoed in elements within the living area, creating a cohesive visual connection throughout the home.
